Hello lovely human, welcome to my digital home and sharing space.
A few years ago, I was a walking (sitting) cliché. Sitting in my office behind my laptop, in my corporate job, I would dream about “one day”… One day, when I would travel the world and do what I absolutely love.
After I graduated from Stellenbosch University in 2009, I spent most t of my twenties in the corporate world, working for the largest retailer in Africa. The environment was certainly not for the faint-hearted. In hindsight, it was an experience I learned so much from, and I am so incredibly grateful for it.
It taught me patience, assertiveness and resilience.
Growing up, I spent most of my weekends and school holidays working in my Dad’s business. Combining those invaluable life experiences (and lessons that seemed so mundane at the time) with my corporate experience, starting my own business was a really natural progression of my own growth. It has been an exciting and interesting adventure, to say the least! As I reflect back on my journey over the last year, I’ve realised that The Mindful Movement is so much more than a business venture to me. Originally, I used the phrase “mindful movement” to describe my own yoga practice.
Then, to describe my style of teaching. And finally, it has morphed organically into a concept so much greater than I ever could have imagined. All of my life experiences amalgamated into one beautiful movement.
The Mindful Movement.
The Mindful Movement was born out of my belief that everyone can benefit from the beautiful practice that is yoga. It is a concept that encourages people from all walks of life to be a part of a revolution that encourages change and healing. Together we can spread love and kindness throughout the world. Together, we can be kinder to ourselves. This is what The Mindful Movement is all about.
Yoga is starting to touch all corners of the globe, and I am so excited to be part of this revolution, witnessing a rise in the divine feminine, regardless of gender. We are all starting to realise the importance of self-care and self-empowerment.
To each and every soul who has taught me and trusted me, I thank you. It is because of YOU that The Mindful Movement is possible. Keep an eye out as I continue to share my love and experiences of EVERYTHING yoga, travel, conscious living and social impact work.
